Aug 15, 2018 · Phoronix used OpenSSL-1.1.0f, which is almost half as slow for this benchmark (on POWER9) than mainline OpenSSL. Mainline OpenSSL has some powerpc multiplication and squaring assembly code which seems to be responsible for most of this speedup.
